COVID-19 has had a significant impact on surgical procedure volumes, especially on elective procedures. The MedTech industry expects a rebound in Q3 and Q4. However, the forecasts remain uncertain, and many variables will come into play.
Therefore, SUAZIO Consulting conducted an independent survey with a sample of health care professionals in the USA and EU to understand current procedure volumes, changes compared to their pre-COVID-19 volumes, and the outlook for 2021.

- Average procedure volumes were down in March by 20%
- Earlier 2021 procedure growth in Non-Cardiac compared to Cardiac Segment
- Procedure volumes back to pre-COVID volumes in November. However, no expected ‘over’-compensation for historic delayed procedures
